Want to know about Mesothelioma?
Mesothelioma is in fact considered a symptom, not an honest to goodness illness. Mesothelioma can eventually lead to mesothelioma cancer. This kind of cancer affects the lungs and respiration functions in the body. In some cases, it could also be found lining the abdominal cavity. Mesothelioma may also cause liver and intestinal cancers.
The root cause of Mesothelioma, is the extended exposure to asbestos. Asbestos was a common building material in the 20th century. Army staff were exposed to asbestos in the 1940s-1970s. Many of these veterans are just now experiencing symptoms from the exposure. Many folks were exposed to asbestos without even knowing it. Some people can develop mesothelioma after only being exposed to asbestos for a brief period of time.
The asbestos releases air borne particles that may be breathed into the breathing system. Asbestos is a naturally occurring material, made of miniscule fibers. These small fibers break down under any sort of pressure and turn into invisible dust particles. These dust particles can be inhaled into the human breathing systems and at last lead to mesothelioma. These fibers imbed themselves in the intestinal and chest linings. In the early 1960s, it was found that the asbestos was damaging. It wasn’t until 1986, that the use of asbestos in building materials, was fully stopped. Many ceilings are made with asbestos and are still around today,
Mesothelioma lawsuits are common today. The symptoms related to mesothelioma can take 10-40 years to start to show up. People that are just now realizing they were exposed, and are suing corporations for laxity. If someone knows they have been exposed to asbestos, they need to let their doctor know, and pay extraordinarily close attention to any symptoms related to mesothelioma. There is no treatment for mesothelioma, but it can be treated if caught early enough. There’s constant research being conducted to try and find a cure for this threatening disease.
